SAGE Co-hosts Briefing on Care with Ford and USAID
SAGE Fund, in collaboration with the Ford Foundation and USAID, co-hosted a learning briefing on Care to share the results of our 2024 Care Request for Proposals (RFP) and to lead a discussion among funders and civil society partners on the gaps and opportunities in the Care field and how to build a more coordinated funder landscape.
Attendees, at Ford Foundation’s Center for Social Justice, heard presentations from SAGE, Iris Group (on behalf of USAID), and the International Development Research Center (IDRC) on three independent mappings done by the organizations about the state of the Care field for funders and civil society, and on how to scale promising work for greater impact.
SAGE’s Director, Daria Caliguire, shared an overview of the response to our RFP, including the range of movements and organizations working on Care, Care Work and Care Economy. She lifted up regional trends and the areas of focus, strategies and approaches where there is growing momentum and opportunities to support more work.
Insights and reflections from the event along with the findings and analysis from our 3-year mapping, grantmaking and learning initiative on Care, will culminate in a report published by SAGE in early 2025.
